Low Flying Wales

In March IrishAirPics paid a visit to the Mach Loop in Wales for some low flying action. The Mach Loop, more properly known as the Machynlleth Loop, is part of LFA7 (Low Flying Area 7). LFA7, and other low flying areas in the UK Low Flying system, allowing UK and allied air forces to practise low flying.
Flying activity was minimal to say the least, one pass by a Hercules C.5, two passes by a Lakenheath F-15 Strike Eagle followed up by a single pass by an RAF Hawk. The Hawk pilot took the time to wave at the photographers perched on the side of the mountain (the Bwlch), even if he was flying on knife edge through a valley at a fair pace!
