Day 3 of the Polish Air Force Press Tour, Powidz air base is the destination today. The day was wet, wet, wet! As a result no flying could take place during our visit but that didnt stop a few hardy creatures walking the static display and snooping in around the cockpits and cabins of the display aircraft.

Powidz is the home base for the Lockheed Martin C-130 Hercules that the Polish Air Force have just purchased second hand from the US Air Force, an example of which was on display, along with a CASA C-295, PZL M-28, Mi-17 & PZL W-3 Sokol.

The Sukhoi Su-22 used to be based at Powidz, in fact the Su-22 full motion simulator is still located here. Before out visit ended we got the opportunity to have a look at aircraft storage area and photograph the stored Su-22 aircraft.

The results of a very wet visit are presented on the right, the lighting got so bad at one point I was having to use a flash on the ramp.

IrishAirPics would like to thank all the personnel at both Powidz Air Base and at Polish Air Force Headquarters for making the visit possible and for their help & assistance during the visit.
